About the course
Change Management is associated with the impact and management of change; this is mainly within organizations where change can have a major impact.
The Foundation qualification provides you with the knowledge to effectively contribute to change initiatives and is the first step towards the Practitioner qualification. With the Practitioner qualification, you will learn to apply and adapt change management strategies to real-life situations, enabling you to drive successful change with the right guidance and support.
Note: This course covers the Foundation & Practitioner level.

Exam format
Format of the Foundation exam:
- Multiple choice questions
- Four sections, 50 questions in total
- 25 points required to pass (out of 50 possible) - 50%.
- 40 minutes duration
- Closed book
The Foundation qualification is a prerequisite for the Practitioner qualification.
Examination format for Practitioner:
- Objective test based on a case study scenario
- 5 sections with 16 points each
- 40 points required to pass (out of 80 possible) - 50%.
- 2.5 hours duration

Prerequisites
You must first pass the Change Management Foundation exam to take the Change Management Practitioner exam.
Training objectives
By the end of the course, you should be able to recall, recognize and demonstrate understanding of the theories, concepts, models and approaches described in the course text, including terms used, process sequences and roles involved.
Specifically, you should be able to demonstrate this understanding by being able to:
- Identify key features of the organizational context in which a change initiative takes place, including the benefits that the organization is trying to pursue, the approach used for the change and the organizational culture.
- Contribute a range of perspectives on the different human reactions that can be seen in a change initiative, suggest ways in which a change can be managed to minimize negative effects and in which people can be supported through change.
- Distinguish between well-founded concerns about a change and resistance to change, recognize signs of resistance and suggest approaches that can mitigate it.
- Recommend and support appropriate actions taken by people in different change roles, especially change sponsors, line managers and change agents, and help build and sustain effective teamwork through change.
- Describe key elements of the process of engaging stakeholders in a change initiative and relate this to building appropriate communication strategies.
- Discuss with colleagues the different areas affected by a change initiative, the severity of these effects and how change progress can be measured.
- Apply key principles to define what needs to be learned by those involved in a change initiative
- Understand how to provide effective and developmental feedback to support others through change
- Apply coaching principles to support change leaders at all levels
- Demonstrate how to recognize and manage different sources of conflict during change
- Consider effective ways to facilitate groups to enable collaboration and co-design of change.
- Understand ways to sustain change by identifying organizational levers, adoption methods and reinforcing systems to help anchor change in an organization
