Course description
In Incineration of Sludge Waste, you'll learn ...
- Be familiar with the common furnace systems used for sludge disposal: Multiple-Hearth and Fluid Bed incinerators
- Be able to determine which incinerator system is best for a particular application
- Be able to size these incinerators and incinerator systems
- Know the dimensions of the selected incinerator systems
Overview
Credit: 3 PDH
Length: 30 pages
Sludges are non-Newtonian liquids with relatively high solids content. The particle size of the solids in a sludge are very small compared to those in what is defined as a slurry, which is basically a liquid (usually water) containing solids of large particle size. This course describes the two most common furnaces used for sludge incineration: the Multiple-Hearth furnace and the Fluid Bed furnace.
