About the PMP ® exam
- The PMP® exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions. Of the 200 questions, 25 are considered 'pre-test' questions.
- Pre-test questions do not affect the score and are used in the exam, as an effective and legitimate way to test the validity of future exam questions.
- All pre-test questions are relabelled and randomly placed throughout the exam.
- The 200 questions cover the wide range of project management, concepts, principles and application of PMP.
- The time to complete the exam is four hours, the exam is computer-based.
- Pass/Fail results are given at the end of the exam.
- There are no scheduled breaks during the exam, although candidates are allowed to take a break if necessary; however, during the break the clock continues to count down.
PMP - Project Management
Whether you are a project manager, programme manager or project coordinator, you have a responsibility to deliver results on time, within budget and within the agreed scope.
You have knowledge, experience and a successful track record as a project manager. So why become PMP certified? Along with the international recognition this project management certification brings, it is a testament to your project management skills and demonstrates that you can apply best practice. You understand that a project is not just about meeting deadlines, it also involves teamwork, managing different stakeholders and the multiple communication channels that come with it. This certification proves that you not only master the tools and skills required to adequately manage projects, but that you also understand that a project must be considered as a whole.
Being a PMP® is not only about the right skills, but also about the right attitude. Certification brings opportunities to share your experience and knowledge with other PMPs® and fellow members of our global and local networks.
