In response to the COVID-19 public health emergency, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has prepared several related informational materials. This activity consists of information that the CDC believes would be immediately useful to healthcare professionals.

Who should attend?
Healthcare professionals who may encounter patients exposed to the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) or patients with confirmed or at risk of developing infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the virus that causes COVID-19.
Training content
By the end of the session the participant will be able to:
- Recognize symptoms and lab and radiographic findings consistent with COVID-19, and apply that knowledge to a patient case
- List risk factors for extended illness and mortality in patients with COVID-19, and apply that knowledge to a patient case
- Describe strategies to treat and prevent the spread of COVID-19
- Recall risk assessment and management of HCPs with potential exposure to patients with COVID-19 in a healthcare setting
