Azure Administrator Certification: Azure Infrastructure and Deployment (AZ-100)

This course is being officially retired by Microsoft and will end on June 30, 2019. It will be replaced by the AZ-103: Microsoft Azure Administrator

If you have already registered and preparing for Exam, then you may continue taking this class and take the said exam before June 30, 2019. Any exams taken prior to the retirement date will be considered valid until June 30, 2020. About this course:

This azure training course is designed to provide information regarding the process of managing Microsoft Azure subscriptions, which consists of polies, access, and compliance, along with the process of tracking and eliminating the usage of service and related costs. IT Professionals can learn the process of managing cloud resources in Microsoft Azure via group and user accounts. Additionally, the person enrolled in this course will learn the process of granting access to Microsoft Azure groups, users, and services, via RBAC (Role Based Access Control). Additionally, the students will get a chance to learn about the core monitoring tools, as well as capabilities that Microsoft Azure provides. Introduction to log analytics will allow the students to learn how it can be used as a solution for broad data analytics, so that they will be able to utilize this service for querying and evaluating operational data. After this, Microsoft Azure Resource Manager will be introduced, and the azure classes will talk about the implementation model it offers, and how a person can work with the resource groups, resources, and ARM templates.

This azure course is the first in a series of courses offered for Microsoft Azure Administrator exams, which is why the students will find immense amount of foundational content in it, which will be helpful in preparing the students for the other courses that are part of the curriculum. Lessons will be planned that allow students to learn the tips and tricks of working in Microsoft Azure portal. These azure classes will also provide an introduction and basic description of the important tools used in Microsoft Azure environment, like Resource Explorer and Cloud Shell. Microsoft Azure PowerShell and CLI (Command Line Interface) are some of the areas which are focused on during the course, since they are essential skills which will help prepare the students for the upcoming exams and also for the practical life.

These professionals are responsible for managing the cloud services including networking, storage, and even for computing cloud capabilities. They have a deep understanding of each and every service across the complete IT lifecycle. Such professionals are responsible for taking the customer’s requests for new cloud applications and offer recommendations regarding the services which can be used for scale and optimal performance. At the same time, they recommend which size, provision, monitor to use and adjust it according to the requirements. Azure Administrators should also communicate with vendors and coordinate with them.   • Querying and evaluating Log Analytics data.
  • Implement resources using ARM templates and organize Microsoft Azure resources. 
  • Optimize the utilization of Microsoft Azure tools like the Azure PowerShell, Azure portal, Azure CLI, and Cloud Shell.
  • Develop Microsoft Azure storage accounts for various types of data pricing, replication, and content scenarios. 
  • Develop blob storage, virtual machine storage, Microsoft Azure files, and structured storage.
  • Manage and protect storage with Microsoft Azure backup, shared access keys, and Microsoft Azure File Sync.
  • Save and access data via Microsoft Azure Content Delivery Network, and use its Import and Export service.
  • Monitor Microsoft Azure storage with alerts and metrics along with the Activity Log.
  • Describe virtual storage options, machine usage cases, pricing, networking capabilities, operating systems, and general planning considerations.
  • Develop Windows virtual machines in the Microsoft Azure Portal, via Microsoft Azure PowerShell, or using ARM Templates.
  • Implement Linux virtual machines and custom server images. 
  • Configure virtual machine storage and networking and storage.
  • Deploy virtual machine scalability, high availability, and custom scripts extensions. 
  • Backup, restore, and monitor virtual machines.
  • Understand and explain IP addressing, virtual networking components, and network routing options. 
  • Deploy Azure DNS domains, record types, zones, and resolution methods. 
  • Configure service endpoints, network security groups, network troubleshooting, and logging.
  • Deploy site connectivity schemas including virtual network peering and VNet-to-VNet connections.
  • Deploy Azure Active Directory, Azure AD Identity Protection, Self-Service Password Reset, and integrated SaaS applications.
  • Configure users and groups, domains and tenants, roles, and devices. 
  • Deploy and manage Microsoft Azure AD Application Proxy and Microsoft Azure Active Directory integration options.
