Course description
Contracts and Procurement Management - In House
This seminar is a module of the University Certification Program in Project Management offered at the Schulich School of Business at York University.
It is also offered to the public as an independent course at various locations across North America through PMI's Seminars World.
In addition, we can make arrangements to deliver this seminar at clients' workplaces.
Procurement management, and particularly contract administration, have become essential project management skills given the current trend to outsource all skills except those deemed most necessary by companies. This course provides project managers with the basic tools they will need in these areas. During these two days, we will examine with the participants the practices used in procurement, tendering, negotiation of contracts and we will give a brief overview of the law of obligations. Rich in detail, this course will give everyone an overview of the role of the procurement manager within a project team. It includes a short video film and a negotiation role-play exercise.
This seminar uses internationally recognized Project Management Institute (PMI) terminology and approach. Along with other courses and readings, it can help candidates prepare for the PMI Project Management Professional certification.
