Medical waste includes a wide variety of materials, from bedding to used bandages, from syringes to pathological wastes. This course describes these wastes in detail, providing information on which wastes are actually to be considered as special wastes, unique to medical facilities, and which are not.

Knowing which wastes are potentially hazardous and which are not the student will be able to develop more proficient means of handling, collection, transportation and disposal.
