Observations & Interviews Checklist - 90-Minute Webinar

Who are your customers? How do they really use your product or service? How might they use a new technology, or adapt to a new offering? Who are other stakeholders that you should consider learning from? How have people addressed similar challenges in other industries? What could be learned from wearing your customer's shoes for a day, or a week?

Learning from people is at the heart of human-centered design, and we learn best when we approach people with an open mind, gain their trust, and allow them to show us surprising and informative things about how they navigate the world. Observations and interviews are techniques used by experts in human factors, that branch of design thinking that draws on lessons from cognitive science, anthropology, ethnography, and related fields - but anyone who works in a creative capacity can benefit from these skills as they search for insights into the needs of the people they are designing for.

This presentation and discussion -- adapted from Innovationship's one-day brainstorming workshop -- will be led by a senior Innovationship partner, who brings decades of experience in observation and interview sessions and teaching the process to others.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
