What Does a Script Supervisor Do?
This course is for anyone who wants to learn more about the craft of script supervising. Students will learn what it is like to work as a script supervisor from pre-production through post-production. They will learn the basics of film theory as it pertains to the position.
Practical exercises will include breaking down a short film script as necessary during pre-production. Students will also participate in an ongoing exercise in which they look for continuity errors from each of our virtual classroom sessions. I will set up my studio as a set, with a different error in each session. Students will be asked to keep a running tally of the mistakes they find in each session.

Training content
The objective of this course is to provide participants with the skills necessary to become a script supervisor. They will learn how to succeed in this job and what is expected of them on set.
Students will break down a short script as if they have been hired on that film and are the script supervisor in pre-production. This will include story days, continuity synopsis, page count, script timing and more. They will also participate in an ongoing exercise to find continuity errors throughout the session, as if they were on set.

- Basic film theory

- How to read a script
- Script supervisor breakdowns
- Notes for editorial
- What to do during a take
- How to interact with other departments
- Different types of script supervising
- The digital era of script supervising
Costs
The cost of this training course includes all course materials and a subject matter expert instructor.
Certification / Credits
Upon completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion with CEUs.
