Even the strongest leaders are sometimes plagued by the nagging sense that they’ll be found out to be frauds. “I don’t belong here. I’m an imposter. I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t have the answers.” Leaders with the greatest power and influence understand they don’t have to fight imposter syndrome. Rather, they can embrace it, shrug, and elevate others instead of themselves. Elevating others -- perhaps counterintuitively -- gives us unstoppable confidence, presence, and charisma.
Our emotions bleed through into our behavior. Think you're doing a good job hiding your anxiety and fear, your anger, your insecurity?
Think again. They show.
You cannot cover them up. You can, however, step aside from those emotions and essentially bring them along as passengers, instead of drivers.
