Due to unexpected changes in organization structure or business demands it sometimes becomes necessary to put a high potential leader on the “fast track” for next level responsibilities. The reasons may be unforeseen or unanticipated (unexpected turn over, boomer retirements, change in business priorities etc.) In these situations, a customized and accelerated experiential development process is created to prepare an individual for a specific role. This process provides insight, awareness, ground floor line of sight, and an informed perspective that will allow the person to make a seamless and successful transition.

Training content

Outcomes

During the six-month engagement the client will practice new skills specific to their development needs. They will be acclimated to the responsibilities of their new role and have a clear understanding of department operations, resources, challenges and needs.

At the end of the engagement the client will be established as the department leader with enough knowledge, context, business awareness and insight to lead successfully. Although there of course be more  to learn, the client will be capable of seamlessly transitioning into their new role with confidence.

Key Points

  • The client will experience processes, learning and experiential activities that will significantly prepare them to move into a pre-identified role within the next six months.
  • Creation of a personalized development plan born from insightful discussion with the client, their manager, the HR Business Partner, the exiting leader and the coach to build a learning program targeted at fully preparing the client for this next step.
  • The coach and the client engage directly in constructing the final development plan, to include multiple avenues for learning, outcome goals and measures of success.
  • This experience will include a number of different ways of preparing the client for this next assignment, taking advantage of various learning styles and exposure to key stakeholders.
