Course description
Emotional Intelligence Training
This training is about developing emotional intelligence and skillful mental habits by learning how the mind and emotions function. Our emotions provide us with a stream of real-time, useful information that we often ignore. The goal of this training is to become aware of that source of information through experience and use it to our advantage. A session is designed to share a few key concepts around mindfulness and emotional intelligence that are backed by neuroscience, experience an exercise, discuss the experience, and close with homework to practice in between sessions.
While the sessions are very educational, most of the learning happens in the “real world” in between the sessions as participants try out the homework, interact with clients, deal with stress at work, and generally experience life. The goal of this training is to develop skills and change behavior, not deliver content. Therefore, training is best done live, in groups, and over a length of time. It is light on content and heavy on practical exercises and support to help participants create new habits.
