Course description
Organizations are continually entering into contracts for construction projects to build and renovate everything from commercial buildings to major highways. This certificate, designed for those in the public or private construction contracting arena, covers many facets of the bidding and contract award processes.
This unique program examines topics such as competitive bidding, contract administration, and program management. Contracts for both design and construction are discussed.
This program is for anyone who has a role in the construction contracting process, including procurement and contracting professionals, prime contractors and subcontractors, project managers, and engineers.
Upon completion of this program, students will have gained the knowledge to:
- Identify key contractual relationships involved in construction contracting;
- Understand how the law applies to public bidding practices;
- Use key terminology when bidding, awarding, and managing construction contracts;
- Understand the laws that apply to architectural and engineering services;
