Length: 60 pages
Wet scrubbers are a pollution control devise used in the industry for removal of particulate material within a captured air stream. There are numerous types of wet scrubbers which remove both acid gases and particulate matter (PM). This course describes the commonly applied scrubber designs used to remove PM from stationary sources. Design and operating parameters are presented. Various scrubber types such as Spray Tower, Venturi, Cyclone and others are reviewed in this course.
In this course the student will be able to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of various wet scrubber options as they apply to emission sources and PM size ranges. Optimizing scrubber operation is also presented. The course will be beneficial for a student with basic knowledge of air pollution control equipment and an interest in controlling particulate emissions. It is also an excellent overview for those professionals working in the field of air pollution control.
