Course description
In Introduction to Semiconductors, you'll learn ...
- Components that make up the basic power supply
- The theory behind semiconductors
- Difference between intrinsic and extrinsic semiconductors
- The electrical properties of semiconductors
Overview
Credit: 1 PDH
Length: 17 pages
This course provides an introduction to semiconductors. To understand how these devices work, we must understand the electrical properties of the semiconductors. This subject includes the two categories of materials: intrinsic semiconductors and extrinsic semiconductors.
The course is based on the textbook by Peter Basis “Introduction to Electronics: A Basic Approach” 1st Edition, ©2014, published by Pearson, reprinted by permission of Pearson Education, Inc., Upper Saddle River, NJ.
The course material is presented illustratively, with equations presented without extensive derivation.
