Teambuilding has been recognized by project managers as an effective way to develop and maintain effective communications within a team made of diverse members who may have never worked together before. This course will help a potential facilitator develop and lead a basic teambuilding program that will draw the required input from the participants and lead to a more productive and effective project team.
The subject matter is presented in video format that can be viewed on any computer or mobile device. The presenter has designed and led many teambuilding programs on projects for pulp and paper mills, NASA, and chemical and food processing plants. The course provides a “how to” guideline explaining the “why” and “what” behind a successful teambuilding initiative.
Information provided in the course will also help an innovative and forward-looking department leader develop their work team outside of any project.
Unlike large projects with immense budgets that may specify teambuilding events and consultants to design and deliver them as part of its execution plan, small and/or community projects may not have that luxury for several reasons:
- Lack of budget
- Lack of expertise to do it
- Lack of understanding how it can help
- Lack of awareness that it even exists
Unfortunately, just because they may not be able to include a teambuilding initiative does not mean there is not the need for it.
Managers of small and/or community projects can realize very similar teambuilding benefits as do the managers of large projects who can include teambuilding if they understand a few simple concepts and use a few simple tools and techniques. These tips, tools, and techniques are easily transferable from project to project.
