Recognize and Reduce the Top 5 Safety Violations in Construction
Keep your construction site safe and avoid costly penalties and citations.
As federal and state OSHA resumes full operations after the pandemic, they will be focusing on conducting a significant number of inspections. Construction sites are a high-priority focus for both federal and state OSHA inspectors. Traditionally, OSHA has used construction site inspections to dramatically increase the number of inspections during the spring, summer, and fall. Because of the complexity of the work being performed at many construction sites, there is a whole series of potential safety and health hazards that can result in injuries, thus prompting an OSHA inspection. In addition to all the OSHA construction standards, OSHA also utilizes several general industry standards to cite construction contractors. Under the Biden administration, there has been an increase in the number of citations as well as an increase in the penalty amounts being issued. In addition, OSHA utilizes the multiemployer citation policy to increase the number of contractors covered under a worksite inspection. This course will examine the top five most frequently cited construction standards by OSHA. This material will review the statistics showing how dangerous the construction industry is to employees; and examine those safety hazards present at most, if not all, construction worksites. This course will also discuss how to handle OSHA inspections and limit and possibly eliminate the safety and health violations citations by OSHA inspectors.
