Course description
The Eldercare Conversation
Long-term care of aging parents or other family members is a difficult and emotionally draining issue that most of us will inevitably face. Enhanced medical care and other quality-of-life issues have resulted in the implementation of a variety of programs and services to address an aging population. Topics to be covered include examining and assessing options from in-home care through skilled, nursing-home care. This course not only addresses the needs of the aging parent or family member but also explores the physical, financial, and emotional needs of the family members involved. Financial planning and financial implications of caring for parents or other family members who are aging are vital components of developing a proactive and practical plan; therefore, available resources and payment strategies will be discussed.
