About
FiberGuide is a consulting and training company focusing on optical communications. Our training courses include CONA (Certified Optical Network Associate), CONE (Certified Optical Network Engineer), CFCE (Certified Fiber Characterization Engineer).
CONA (Certified Optical Network Associate) is the first of two-vendor neutral intense 5-day optical network training courses from Optical Technology Training (OTT). CONA is designed to offer prospective optical network engineers the ins and outs of optical networking. It covers networks that use single channel or multiple channels using DWDM or CWDM. These include metro networks, 5G transport, DCIs, long haul networks, and other WANs. Delegates learn what is required for satisfactory system performance of such networks, how CD and PMD affect network performance and how they are mitigated.
Delegates should pass an examination and a network design assignment to be CONA certified. Successful candidates have the option to take the more advanced CONE (Certified Optical Network Engineer) course. In CONE, delegates learn how the powerful combination of coherent transmission & digital signal processing has transformed optical communications at data rates of 100Gb/s, 400Gb/s, 800Gb/s, and beyond.
They will learn about the changes necessary to DWDM systems for operating efficiently at data rates of 400Gb/s & above.
Understanding how the right mix of optical and electronic technologies is used to overcome limitations is a recurring theme of the course, as is the role of SDN and its implications for facilitating open systems including open optical line systems, Open ROADMs, and white box solutions.
Delegates will also appreciate the fundamental limitations that apply & the trade-offs & compromises to be made so that you can make strategic decisions about the long-term plans for your network.
