Lesson 1: The Concept of Students as Content Creators

What is it, and why should I do it?

Learn what students as content creators means and why educators are embracing this new way of engaging and teaching students. By reading documentation produced by practicing teachers and watching this process in action, you'll begin to develop an understanding of the value of this type of instruction

Lesson 2: The Link to State Standards

How does it meet my required standards?

Examine state and common core standards, as well as lesson plans associated with student content creation. Discern the standards for your school district, and evaluate lesson ideas that may be appropriate for use with your students.

Lesson 3: Examples of Student-Created Content

What does it look like?

Study examples of student-created content to help get your wheels turning on what you can do with your students. Your goal for this lesson is to begin assessing various types of student-created content and think about how you might use SCC in your classroom.

Lesson 4: The Process of Student Content Creation

How is it done?

Explore ways to allow your students to create content rather than consume content from you. Apply the concept by developing a lesson plan that allows students to create content that demonstrates their mastery of the lesson skill.
