Course description
Mastering the Art of Difficult Conversations
Is this you? …….Have you ever avoided a difficult conversation, or lost control of your emotions when having one? Are you feeling like you are making crucial and critical mistakes when engaging with a co-worker or your boss or significant other?
You are not alone in your behavior. Business surveys report annually that Communication is the number one issue in an organization. It doesn’t matter if there are 50 people or 50,000. When you ask individuals in an organization “how effective is the communication here”? Overwhelmingly they say the same thing. Counselors and Coaches agree that most issues center around poor communication skills.
What’s the solution? You want to create a safe environment for the other person to want to engage in the conversation. You need to communicate in a variety of ways to effectively engage with all types of communication styles. One size or style will not fit every situation. Not paying attention to each situation and all the considerations and necessary pieces can have a major impact on your effectiveness and success down the road. In this highly interactive workshop, participants will learn practical solutions and discover tips and tools for enhanced success in your role and for your team and organization. A variety of methods will be incorporated to accomplish the goals of the session -- some large group inputs, small group discussions and time for self-reflection. Attendees will leave the session with an action plan of what they need to focus on to increase their success.
