Course description
Listening and Feedback
Effective listening is a two-way street. It is the ability to actively understand information provided by the speaker, and display interest in the topic discussed. All too often, we focus on improving our ability to talk, while neglecting to listen to the message being delivered. By acknowledging what the other person is saying, you are connecting and engaging with that person. This way you build a foundation of trust and respect, the basis of being effective and productive.
To motivate more effective behavior and better performance you need to provide a great deal of feedback. Research indicates that performance directly relates to the amount and kind of feedback people get. In this workshop participants will gain an understanding of how critical it is as a leader to listen and provide ongoing feedback. Through a variety of exercises and activities, participants will develop and enhance their skills in these two areas.
