Course description
Regulatory agencies are establishing mechanisms for enforcement and oversight of program requirements for cannabis and hemp. An integral component of this oversight includes laboratory testing of products as a means for protecting consumer health and ensuring safety. Regulatory agencies rely on existing recognized accreditation bodies and their laboratory accreditation programs to support this oversight. These accreditation programs can be tailored to specific regulatory needs but are based on international consensus standards (i.e., ISO/IEC 17025).
Understanding ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for Cannabis and Hemp Testing Laboratories, will guide attendees in understanding and applying the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 in the laboratory. This self-paced online course will cover practical concepts, such as measurement uncertainty, proficiency testing, traceability, document control, internal auditing, and addressing risks and opportunities. The relationship of general regulations to ISO/IEC 17025 will also be discussed.
Note: Specific regulations will not be addressed in this course.
