American Society of Civil Engineers
Founded in 1852, the American Society of Civil Engineers is known as the nation's oldest engineering society representing more than 150,000 members of the civil engineering profession in 177 countries. ASCE in at the leading edge of an industry that designs, plans, constructs, and operates society's social and economic engine while restoring and protecting the natural environment.
Due to the expertise of active members, ASCE is the world's largest publisher of civil engineering content, a top provider of professional and technical conferences and continuing education, and a leading source for standards and codes that protect the public.
Through the use of nine institutes and multiple public- and professional-focused programs, ASCE is able to advance civil engineering technical specialties. The Society's members are made up of professionals in all career stages and students studying in various sectors and disciplines.
