In these Terms and Conditions:
- "grant" refers to the findcourses.com 2020 Professional Development Grant
- "we", "us," "our" or "findcourses.com" refers to EMG - Educations Media Group
- "you" or "your" refers to you as the grant applicant
- “education” “course” or “training course” refers to an eligible training course
- “funds” refers to the amount paid to training providers by findcourses.com on behalf of winners, up to the amount of $1,000 for an eligible training course
By submitting an application for this grant, it is understood that you have read and agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
1. Free Course Drawing
1.1 findcourses.com is offering eligible participants the opportunity to enter into a free drawing.
1.2 Eligible participants that enter the free drawing will have the chance to win:
Up to $1,000 towards any eligible course listed on findcourses.com
1.3 The drawing will take place five times throughout the grant period (see: 3.2.2) with the total grant amount being offered by findcourses.com over the course of 2020 being a maximum of $5,000 inclusive of taxes and fees.
1.4 If an eligible participant is selected to receive funding for an eligible course and the amount of that funding falls below $1,000 including taxes and fees, that amount will be carried forward to either be used to draw additional winner(s) in the 2020 Grant or put towards the 2021 Grant, at the discretion of findcourses.com.
2. Applications
2.1 Grant eligibility
2.1.1 To apply for this grant, you must
- You must be aged 18+
- You must be a full-time resident of the United States or Canada
- You must be able to take the course within 6 months of the drawing
2.1.2 You must meet these eligibility requirements in order to be considered for this grant. If you do not meet the eligibility requirements, we will disqualify your application. You will not receive notification of disqualification.
Applications must be submitted in English. Applications in other languages will not be considered.
2.1.3 The grant is not open to:
- Permanent employees of Educations Media Group
- Members of the immediate families (meaning the spouses or civil partners of the relevant individuals and the individuals' lineal descendants) of employees of Educations Media Group
2.2 Course eligibility
2.2.1 As part of your application, we ask you to choose two courses and list these in order of preference. When awarded, we will choose the first course, providing it meets with our eligibility requirements.
2.2.2 If the first course you have selected does not meet our eligibility requirements, we will check the additional course provided by you, the applicant, and award funding for an eligible course within these
2.2.3 As part of this grant, findcourses.com agrees to funding one course per winner that meets the following requirements:
- The course is available in an online or classroom / public format
- The course has availability within 6 months of the application date
2.2.4 If you have not submitted any eligible courses as part of your grant application we will disqualify your application. You will not receive notification of disqualification.
2.2.5 You may only submit courses you have not already booked or paid for.
2.2.6 Only one course will be funded per winner.
2.3 How to Enter
2.3.1 The free draw will run from 00:01 on February 24, 2020 (the Opening Date) to 23:59 on December 31, 2020 (the Closing Date) inclusive.
2.3.2. The grant is free to enter and no purchase is required
2.3.3 Applicants must submit two courses they are interested in taking, in order of preference.
2.3.4 All applications must be submitted through the official online form and received by findcourses.com no later than 23:59 on the Closing Date. On this date, we will close the application form and no further submissions will be allowed.
2.3.5 Any applications submitted to us by means other than the official online form will not be considered.
2.3.6 Applications by email or post will not be accepted
2.3.7 findcourses.com will not accept:
- 2.3.7.1 responsibility for entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
- 2.3.7.2 proof of transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the grant drawing.
2.3.8 If you are drawn as a winner, your information will be removed from all subsequent drawings to allow other participants a chance to win
2.8.9 Entries are limited to one per person. If you enter more than once, we will retain your first entry and discard any subsequent entries.
2.4 Submitting false or misleading information
2.4.1 All information included in your application and in any further communication regarding this grant must be, to the best of your knowledge, correct at the time of submission.
2.4.2 Purposefully providing false or misleading information is an offence. If we know or have reason to believe that you have provided false or misleading information, we may disqualify your application. If the grant has already been paid, you will be liable to repay to us the total sum of the grant awarded.
3. The Prize
3.1 Eligible participants that apply for the grant will have the chance to win:
Up to $1,000 towards any eligible training course on findcourses.com inclusive of taxes and fees.
3.2 Announcing the winners
3.2.1 The winners will be chosen by random drawing performed by a computer process
3.2.2 Drawings will occur bimonthly starting in April 2020 with the exception of the final drawing. Subsequent drawings will take place in June, August, and October. The final drawing will take place in January 2021 after the Closing Date. The exact date of the drawings will be announced on our social media channels, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, one week in advance.
3.2.3 There will be 1 winner in each drawing and a maximum of 5 winners across the duration of the 2020 grant period.
3.2.4 Winning applicants will be notified via email to the email address supplied in the application form.
3.2.5 Winning applicants will have the choice of whether they would like their first name (only) and their course selection to be published as part of the announcement.
3.2.6 We will share winning applicants’ contact information with the provider of the course they have chosen if necessary for booking.
3.2.7 Winning applicants will be asked to share experiences of their funded course as part of the promotion of the grant.
3.3 Accepting the grant
3.3.1 If you are selected as the grant winner, you will receive an official "offer" via email on one of the drawing dates, and must reply either accepting or rejecting this offer within 7 days of receiving the offer.
3.3.2 Failure to respond within this 7-day period may result in the grant offer being withdrawn and reassigned to another applicant.
3.4 Payment of funds
3.4.1 We will make payment of funds in a single installment directly to the training provider on your behalf. We do not make payment of funds to the student.
3.4.2 Payment of funds will be organized with the training provider and may take some time depending on the training provider’s specific regulations and processes surrounding the payment of sponsored funds. Thus, we cannot guarantee a specific payment date however:
3.4.2.1 We will do our best to secure a confirmed place on an eligible course within 30 days of the winner confirming acceptance of the funding.
3.4.3 The total value of the grant offered will be outlined in the official offer email. We reserve the right to offer any value of funds, up to the value of $1,000 including taxes and fees.
3.4.4 The grant does not cover associated costs, including, but not limited to:
- Travel costs to attend the course
- Costs for any course-related material (including, but not limited to, text books, software and writing or note-taking material)
- Exam costs (where not included in the price of the education)
3.4.5 There is no cash alternative
3.4 Taxation
3.4.1 We are not responsible for and cannot provide you with financial advice on taxation matters. The information provided here is of a general nature only and does not take into account your individual financial circumstances.
3.5 Privacy / Use of personal information
3.5.1 If you are offered the grant, your details including your name, photograph (where provided) and grant awarded will be featured on our websites and social media, as well as passed on to media for the purpose of promoting our brand, the grant, and future grants.
3.5.2 By accepting the grant, you waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product, the advertising copy or other matter that may be used to promote findcourses.com as well as this and any other future grants.

3.6 Grant cancellation
3.6.1 We reserve the right to cancel the grant at any point.
3.7 Application feedback
3.7.1 We will not provide feedback on applications.
3.8 Modifications
3.8.1 We may modify these terms and conditions from time to time. If these changes affect existing grant applications, we will inform applicants using the email address provided.
